Adelaide Lead Railway Station
Built: 1887
Closed: 1959 Location: Adelaide Lead VIC 3465, Australia About: There was originally one service each way on the Avoca-Maryborough Line, until before World War 1 when the services were doubled, but after the war, services were downgraded back to one a day. In 1936, mixed trains were stopped and a rail motor started to work. In 1955-1956, the station closed for goods rail transport and the station came into a state of decline. In 1961, a quarry opened, by the name of Waterfall Quarries Pty Ltd, located near Bung Bong railway station, transporting grey basalt to surrounds. There were around three trains daily that ran from Bung Bong-Maryborough, until the quarry closed in 1970. Though the line was opened up again in 1966, it has been unused for quite some time. In June 2017 it was said that the line between Maryborough and Ararat will be reopened. Status: Demolished Aircraft Railway Station

Location: Laverton VIC 3028, Australia. About: Aircraft Station was first known as Aviation Siding, until 1927 when it was named Aircraft siding, before finally being called it's current name in 1963. The main purpose of this station was to service the nearby Royal Australian Air Force base. The current station that you see today was made in 1964, but in 1968 when a duplication line was made, the station turned into an island platform. The future of the station was uncertain when plans of building Williams Landing a kilometer away. The spokesman for the minister of public transport Martin Paluka, said that the station could close by the end of 2012. Around the same time, there was a plan to build 100 car parks, but that was cancelled. In 2010, the uncertainty was stopped, as it was announced that Aircraft Station will not close. Location: Alberton VIC, 3971 About: Very little is known about the station. It was built in 1892 and closed in 1981, but the line itself closed in 1987. Status: Demolished Albion Railway Station

Location: St Albans Rd, Albion VIC 3020 About: When the station was first opened, it was known as Albion & Darlington, which was only open for a year, but in 1891, it was renamed to Albion and reopened again. The station also originally encompassed a signal box, but this was later moved to Sunshine in 1965. Status: In service Albury Railway Station*

Location: Albury NSW, 2640 About: In 1883 when the railway came to town, the station was soon built. The long platform at the station, 455m wide, was then the longest in Australia. A refreshment room was established here, but in 1975 this was closed. A bogie change facility was also built, but this was demolished in 2005 to make way for the Hume Highway bypass. Location: Allansford VIC, 3277 About: As early as 1929 a map had shown a small siding in the town of Allansford. The end of the siding included another dead-end siding. By 1940, a station building was supplied. Allansford also installed a intermediate composite electric staff block Status: Demolished Allendale Railway Station.

Location: Allendale VIC, 3364 About:? Status: Demolished Almurta Railway Station.
Built: 1910
Location: Almurta VIC, 3965 About: Almurta opened on the Wonthaggi line in 1910, but when the line closed in 1978, it was closed and demolished. There were originally plans to call the station Rees but this never came into action. The platform wall remains, but in a very poor condition. Location: Altona VIC, 3018 About: Altona Railway Station was originally called Altona Beach, replacing the original Altona beach made to the east of this station. The station was officially named Altona in 1938. In the 1980's, there was an increasing threat of closure, and services were drastically reduced to only a few services, but was changed in 1982 to more frequent services. In 1985, the line was extended to Laverton. Status: In service Altona Beach Railway Station

Train services continued for only 2 years. Services were brought back in 1917, but the new terminus was now at Altona. Status: Demolished |
